AT AFRIKINDNESS

we strive to put the LOVE in charity

It's not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.

- Mother Teresa

WHO WE ARE

Afrikindness is a non-profit organisation founded in 2021 for the sole purpose of advocating kindness. We are focused on inspiring, educating, and empowering children and young people to be KIND. We encourage more kindness in everyday life. In the world of today, so many children are most affected by diseases, conflicts, poverty, and other forms of deprivation.

Some of these children and their families live on less than a dollar a day. Statistics show that 811 million people still go hungry globally, and about 10% of that number are Africans. Children and young people are most vulnerable and struggle to cope with the rapid changes within their environment.

Afrikindness is set to give children, young adults, teachers, and parents that enabling environment and network to learn, show, and do random acts of kindness. Such random acts of kindness boost positive attitudes, self-worth, and create a happier environment for the person being kind. The person receiving the act of kindness sees hope, love, and a bright future.

Afrikindness aims to inspire people to do more to help sustain the quality of life for others

We started as a project from one child and since then it has grown into a series of projects with more children involved. These children and young adults want to impact the world around them through kindness. We're not just about raising money for a cause; we want to deeply engage with the problems facing other children, our planet, and Africa. We want to give children and young people the tools they need to make a difference in their communities.

"Once children are exposed to helping other people, it starts to become a habit"

Our zeal is to advocate for kindness, inspiring, educating, and empowering children to be kind to others and themselves. We encourage children and young people to be kind to themselves as we know that the way you treat yourself sets the tone for how others will treat you. This will improve their health and well-being and is equally important for their mental health. We promote personal wellbeing and development through a comprehensive personal, health, and social education programme that will help children live healthy and productive life.

Afrikindness is a movement to promote kindness in children and young people. We are a community of young people dedicated to leading a life of kindness. It is open to all.

We are privileged to be where we are... Grateful, Humble, and Thankful.

Afrikindness ….be an inspiration

We have a three-pronged mission

1.

Firstly, to support children and young people to live following the three pillars for a good life: good food, quality education, and clean water. We facilitate community volunteering programs organized by children and young people to show kindness, network with charities, international bodies, and African communities (diaspora) to promote children’s activities that empower them to be KIND. In so doing, we are making our contribution to the United Nations Sustainable development goals (SDGs).

2.

Secondly, to provide schools with teaching resources on kindness and embed them in the school curriculum. We believe the elements of Kindness should be taught in schools. We also support charity days, mental health campaigns, climate change activities, and volunteering activities that will encourage children and young people to be kind to themselves and others.

3.

Thirdly, to showcase children that are role models, kindness advocates, and ambassadors who are intentionally impacting their world. These are young change-makers, trailblazers, and advocates for kindness, climate change, quality education, zero hunger, etc. Their stories and work will inspire others and prove that you can make a difference at any age.

OUR MISSION

At Afrikindness, we value kindness, empathy, respect, hope and strive to provide an enabling environment for children and young people to learn the acts of kindness through fun age-related activities and educational resources. At Afrikindness, volunteering reflects our values – what we care about, and we ensure that children and young people are given that opportunity to learn to be kind.

Afrikindness mission is for a world where no child will have to worry about food, clean water, education and anything

We do everything possible to inspire children and young people to be kind through teaching, providing kindness advocates that can inspire others, developing emotional intelligence that will build empathy and contribute to better psychological health, and building a network of creative young minds that seek sustainable solutions making an impact in the communities where they live.

OUR AIM

Inspire

We aim to inspire children to be positive about themselves, their community, and their origin, hopefully leading to a more caring society in which they live. Our goal is to create a community of young people who are excited about giving back and improving their communities, countries, and the world at large through random acts of kindness that will go a long way in changing the lives of many for the better.

We facilitate this change by showcasing amazing individuals, children, and young people (kindness advocates and role models) who have dedicated their time and resources to making the world a better place.

Educate

We provide a kindness framework and teaching resources that can be embedded in schools and used in homes to educate children and young people on the super-powers of kindness. Our kindness framework and educational program demonstrate our core values and can be adopted into the school curriculum.

This will focus on 4 key areas:

  • Kindness to oneself (Mental Health, Mindfulness & Self-Kindness, etc)
  • Kindness to others (Compassionate, Humanity, etc)
  • Kindness to the environment (Climate change, Sustainability, etc)
  • Kindness to Africa (Community & Global actions to SDG)

We create tools for parents, teachers, students, corporate organizations, and anyone else seeking to spread Kindness in their way – whether through books, games, videos, or social media campaigns.

Empower

Changing the mindset of young people and children gives them hope that they can be better, achieve more, and positively contribute to society. We aim to empower young people through projects that involve community service and helping those in need by spreading kindness.

Afrikindness aims to empower children through age-related activities and help them see the difference their actions make every day in changing people’s lives and the impact on their community. This will make them confident with self-worth, have respect for others, and have resilience.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

We envision a future where kindness, unity, and volunteerism are at the heart of our daily lives. Our mission is to create a better world by giving people the tools to bring about positive change in their communities.

Kindness

We believe in being kind, peaceful, and helpful. We hope to bring this message to the world. The world can be a better place if we all take the time to be kind and helpful. The people who strive to make the world a better place will change the world for everyone.

Unity

Unity is an important part of changing the world for the better. When we stand together for a cause, we can make great things happen. Unity is about celebrating our differences and overcoming them through kindness to achieve great things together. We are unstoppable when we come together to work towards a cause.

Volunteering

Volunteering our time and resources makes the world a better place for everyone. It builds community, brings people together, and makes us feel good about ourselves. It helps us grow as individuals by helping others, allowing us to learn new skills and meet new people, and gives us the satisfaction of knowing that our time was spent doing something good for someone or something else.

Hope

We believe in the power of hope: having hope for the future gives us a reason to get out of bed in the morning and try again even on bad days. Life throws challenges at all of us, but no matter what challenges you face, there's always hope for a better tomorrow, and that's why we go out there to actualize the hopes of these young ones. Their hope is what keeps us ready to donate, volunteer, and advocate for making our future better - Together.

WHAT WE DO

We don't have a lot of money, but we have something even better: goodwill and the desire to help others. Afrikindness harnesses the kindness of hundreds of volunteers to bring hope to communities ravaged by suffering and strife. We're not just a non-profit organisation - we're a movement focused on changing the narrative around what's happening in our world today. And if one kid gets a smile on their face because someone was kind, then we've done our job - and you've done yours.

Our goal is to be KIND to ourselves, KIND to others, KIND to the environment, and KIND to Africa.

Afrikindness created a network of people that passionate about Kindness.
